This clinical white paper presents the results of a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial investigating Cardiotrition® Booster, a mitochondrial-targeted combination therapy containing Coenzyme Q10, Acetyl L-Carnitine, and Alpha-Lipoic Acid. A total of 184 post-myocardial infarction patients were enrolled and treated for 30 days.
The intervention demonstrated a significant improvement in the Myocardial Functional Recovery Index (MFRI), achieving a 48.2% improvement compared to 22.7% in the placebo group. Patients receiving Cardiotrition® Booster experienced enhanced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), reduced NT-proBNP levels, improved oxidative stress biomarkers, greater exercise capacity, and approximately twofold faster recovery times.
The study highlights the importance of targeting mitochondrial dysfunction, ATP depletion, and oxidative stress during post-infarction recovery. Advanced delivery technologies including CardioDrone® targeted cardiac delivery and INNOVA3® liposomal technology were utilized to improve bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy.
The findings support Cardiotrition® Booster as a promising adjunctive therapy for cardiac rehabilitation, offering significant benefits in myocardial recovery, functional improvement, and cardiovascular health outcomes following acute myocardial infarction.
